Retro DESCRIPTION
Return to the fundamentals of computers and computer programming
with the Retro computer system.  The 8-bit microcomputer with a built-in
BASIC language interpreter and minimal operating system has been
reborn.

It certainly isn't a computer as they are known today.  But instead, as its
name suggests, Retro is a throw-back to the early days of computing.
Retro brings back the days of early computing.  A computer with a built-in
BASIC language interpreter, minimal operating system that doesn't get in
your way, commands to give the user direct control over the system
components, and even an expansion port that allows users to connect
their own equipment to Retro and write programs to control them.

Retro may seem a bit simplistic in today’s world but Retro has many uses
and applications.  There is something for everybody, beginners to experts
alike.  Retro offers an environment that is not overwhelming and is user
friendly that a beginner can learn computer programming on.  More
seasoned programmers will enjoy the direct control over the system
components without a complex operating system getting in the way.  For
the adventurous user Retro offers its expansion port.  With the expansion

port any user can connect their own devices and experiments to Retro and
program Retro to control them.  In doing this Retro combine’s software and hardware disciplines together.  The expansion
port goes beyond the experimenter's use and can also be used in commercial and industrial applications as well.  Retro
covers everything from education to industrial/commercial controller.

Retro also comes with an asynchronous full duplex serial port  for communications with the outside world.  Retro's other
connectors are for a PS/2 keyboard, a 5-switch digital joystick with a 9-pin connector, a mono sound output, and a VGA
monitor.

So whether you are a beginner just learning to program, an experienced programmer who wants to return to a computer
under your direct control, an experimenter that wants to combine software and hardware, a developer that needs a
standalone programmable controller, or anyone in between you'll find Retro enjoyable on many levels due to its wide array of
applications and uses.

Retro has far too many uses and features to explain in this short description.  Please feel free to download the user manual
below to explore Retro in more detail.  The best thing about Retro is that it does what you want it to do.  So its uses are
limited only to what you can come up with.
